2019 PJ Library Family Survey
We are working with an independent evaluation firm, Atlantic 57, to conduct a survey to improve your family’s experience with PJ Library.
The survey will only take 10 minutes to complete and all feedback will be kept completely confidential. We ask that only one survey be completed per household.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
- A unique survey invitation was emailed to all PJ Library subscriber families on November 10th
- If you haven’t received your email invitation, you can access the survey here instead
- We’ll share findings this spring, Like us on Facebook to stay in the loop!
A VALUABLE TOOL FOR PARENTS
More than 80% of parents who responded to the survey said PJ Library gave them more confidence to engage with their children regarding Jewish values, culture, and traditions. And 91% of respondents indicated PJ Library has been a valuable parenting tool. What else does PJ Library do to support parents? Watch this animated video to find out!
The more than 125,000 families enrolled in PJ Library reflect the full breadth and spectrum of Jewish life in the United States and Canada, from how they practice Judaism to their family makeup. Although PJ Library families are diverse, they almost universally value the experience of receiving free Jewish books in their homes.
IMPACT ON INTERMARRIED FAMILIES
More than one-quarter of PJ Library families described themselves as intermarried, meaning one parent identifies as Jewish and one does not. That’s an estimated 35,000 families identifying as intermarried. This survey shows that the program is more likely to have an impact in these homes. Eighty-nine percent of intermarried families say they have been influenced by PJ Library to learn more about Judaism.

Prior to 2016, the last family study PJ Library conducted was in the fall of 2013. More than 20,000 families responded to that survey, and what we learned led directly to new initiatives like PJ Library’s parent book choice, and the creation of new materials that accompany our books.
