JEWISH FAMILY AND CHILDREN'S SERVICE OF MINNEAPOLIS (JFCS) is a human service organization that touches the lives of more than 16,000 people annually. Throughout more than 100 years of service, JFCS has resettled immigrants and Holocaust survivors, helped the unemployed, assisted in adoptions of orphaned children, helped seniors remain independent in their homes, matched mentors with youth, educated the community about abuse, loaned much-needed funds, strengthened the Jewish connection of people with disabilities, counseled people in times of need, and so much more. JFCS core values are defined by the Jewish value of tikkun olam, "repairing the world," and the agency is proud to be a national leader in creating innovative approaches to help communities, families and individuals reach their full potential. We are proud to say that since 1910, we have been "family" to tens of thousands of people in our community.
FOR 81 YEARS,THE MINNEAPOLIS JEWISH FEDERATION has served as our Jewish community's central resource for strengthening Jewish life. Through careful research and planning, we track the ever-changing needs in our local and global Jewish communities and leverage our resources to respond efficiently and effectively. By caring for the vulnerable, responding in times of crisis, and inspiring a new generation to embrace Jewish life and learning, we are changing and saving lives on a daily basis in Minneapolis, Israel, and 70 countries around the world. We bring philanthropists, professionals, volunteers, schools and agencies together to nurture today's Jewish community, plan for the future, and make the world a better place.
