BOOK PREVIEW: “Thank You for Me”

“Thank You for Me” by Rick RechtPJ LIBRARY SPOKESPERSON Rick Recht has long been an artist among PJ Library musical selections. This month (May 2014), he joins the ranks as a PJ book author as well.

Going out to PJ Library enrollees in the Apples & Honey (6 months to 2 years) Age Group is the board book, Thank You for Me, written by Rick Recht and illustrated by Ann Koffsky.

Thank You for Me is based on Recht’s song, Kobi’s Lullaby.  It tells the story of a child who realizes he has a lot to be thankful for — everything from the moon and the sun to his nose and his toes.

“Thank You for Me is a story about gratitude and blessing,” explains Recht in a related press release. “It’s about how incredibly fortunate we are to have family, friends, our community, our health and the nature that surrounds us. In our home, we say these words every night as part of our Recht family bedtime rituals as we give thanks for our blessings. It's really wonderful to know that, through this book, families all around the world will also share in this ritual of thanks and celebration.”

Illustrator Ann Koffsky is a seasoned PJ Library author and illustrator herself, notably responsible for Noah’s Swim-A-Thon. Each copy of Thank You for Me includes a link to a free music download of Kobi’s Lullaby and free Thank You for Me coloring pages from Koffsky.
