Last-Minute 2013 Passover Ideas for New York City ParentsIN THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS, why is it hard sometimes to find something fun to do as a family. With Passover quickly approaching, holiday-related family outings need to get planned—and soon!


If you live in New York City and need some ideas for Passover fun, we can get you started. Below is a short list of scheduled events for PJ families in New York.

PJ PASSOVER EVENTS IN NYC

There are many PJ Library partners in the City hosting Pesach events for families and children. If your family is associated with a particular JCC, synagogue, or day school, it’s definitely worth a phone call or Internet search to find out what’s planned.


If you’re looking to try something new or meet new people, here are a few PJ partner events that are open to the public in the coming week:


  • Shababa Creative Family Passover Seder
    Tuesday, March 26 @ 5:30
    Host Karina Zilberman and musician Matt Turk will host a song-filled, interactive telling of the Exodus story and a traditional Kosher-for-Passover catered dinner at Buttenwieser Hall of PJ Library partner 92nd St Y.

  • Pesach Seder Balancing Act with Chinese Acrobat
    March 28 @ 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. & 4 p.m.
    March 29 @ 12:30 p.m.
    March 31 @ 12:30 p.m.
    The Jewish Children’s Museum in Brooklyn is pulling out all the stops for children this Passover. Museum admission, plus show ticket, is $15.

  • Crafting Stories: A Passover Art Workshop
    Sunday, March 24 @ 1 p.m.–3 p.m.
    Children, ages 5 and up, are welcome to drop-in with their parents or grandparents for a Haggadah art workshop with author Francine Hermelin Levite. Using pages from Levite's book, My Haggadah: Made it Myself, along with a fun mix of such art as fabric, yarn, buttons, and more. The first 40 registrants will receive their own copy of Levite's Haggadah to decorate and enjoy as a family. The event is free with Museum admission.
