PJ Goes to Camp has reached an important milestone. We have achieved our goal of sending 500 children to camp this summer -- three times the number of grants awarded for the 2010 summer.
PJ Goes to Camp provides incentive grants of up to $1,000 are being awarded to offset camp tuition for PJ Library participants, siblings, and alumni. It is one of many summer camp funding resources available via OneHappyCamper.org.
With the help of PJ Goes to Camp, hundreds of campers will be attending more than 90 camps from across North America. Many of campers' families feel as this Teaneck, NJ, family does. The family writes:
“On behalf of our entire family, I want to thank PJ Goes to Camp and PJ Library for this wonderful gift. The grant will ease our burden in making sure our son has a wonderful camp experience. Aaron loved being part of the PJ Library program (he was sad when he aged out) and he continues to benefit by reading the stories and listening to the music with Mia, our 4 year-old, who is part of the program. I don't have enough words to thank you again for all PJ Library has done to enrich my children's Jewish cultural experience."
Potential PJ campers were given a great visual in the springtime that showcased the benefits afforded by overnight Jewish camp. That visual came in the form of a YouTube video created by our partners, the Foundation for Jewish Camp. As a partner program, PJ Library is proud to share this important video:
