Here’s an easy and delicious treat — and every ingredient comes from trees! (If nuts are a no-no in your house, seeds from tall, tree-like sunflowers make a fine substitute)
This Activity Works With These Books
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond butter (or sunflower-seed butter)
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup carob powder
- ½ cup chopped cashews (or sunflower seeds)
- 1/3 cup dried coconut (optional)
Preparation
- Blend the almond butter and the maple syrup until smooth.
- Gradually stir in the carob powder, then the chopped cashews.
- Roll the batter into balls between your palms (about a tablespoon of batter each), then dip the balls into a shallow bowl of coconut flakes.
- Let the treats firm up in the fridge for about 20 minutes, then enjoy!
