The Sydney Taylor Book Awards are among the most prestigious in the Jewish literary community. Awarded by the Association of Jewish Libraries, they celebrate books for children and teens that meet high literary standards and authentically portray Jewish life and experiences.
We’re even more excited and proud that many authors we’ve worked with, and books we've been proud to send to familiies, have been honored and awarded this year.
The 2019 winners of the Sydney Taylor Book Award are author Emily Jenkins and illustrator Paul Zelinsky for All-of-a-Kind Family Hanukkah, Jonathan Auxier, author of Sweep: The Story of a Girl and Her Monster, a 2019 PJ Our Way selection, and Vesper Stamper, author of What the Night Sings.

Erica Perl's new book All Three Stooges was named an Honor Book for Older Readers. She is the author of PJ Our Way selections, Aces Wild and When Life Gives You OJ.
PJ Library selection, The Passover Parrot by Evelyn Zusman, was named a Notable Book for Younger Readers.
Author Lisa Greenwald, who was part of PJ Library's first Author Israel Adventure trip was also awarded with a Notable Book for Older Readers for her book 12 Before 13.
