Yom Ha'atzmaut, or Israel Independence Day commemorates the establishment of the modern state of Israel in 1948.
Yom Ha’atzmaut is Israel’s Independence Day.
This year Yom Ha’atzmaut begins in the evening of Tuesday, Apr 21, 2026 and lasts until evening on Wednesday, Apr 22, 2026.
In Israel people celebrate the day with fireworks, barbecues, and public concerts. Outside Israel, Jewish communities host parties and gatherings to celebrate. Often, the focus of these events is on Israeli culture and people attending will wear blue and white and wave Israeli flags.
