2026-2027 Cohort
A PJ Library Parent Connector serves as the face of PJ Library within their local neighborhood, building relationships with families and creating meaningful opportunities for connection. Parent Connectors, PJ Library parents raising Jewish children 0-5, organize two gatherings each month, bringing families together to form friendships and strengthen community, with the support of PJ Library in New York.
Parent Connectors are currently active across all five boroughs of New York City, as well as Westchester and Long Island.
PJ Library in New York is hiring a limited number of Parent Connectors for the 2026-27 program year:
Responsibilities
- Create and implement approximately two activities or gatherings per month, or six gatherings per three-month block. Examples include playground meet-ups, informal playgroups, library storytimes, and parents-only gatherings.
- Deepen connections with families through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, personal emails, and social media, twice per month, or six times per three-month block.
- Participate in an onboarding and orientation session, followed by quarterly calls with the Parent Connector cohort and at least monthly supervision check-ins.
- Actively share the gift of PJ Library with families encountered.
- Document program planning and attendance numbers using a provided invoice template.
- Submit quarterly invoices and upload debit card receipts.
Compensation and Support
- Parent Connectors are paid a $1,000 quarterly stipend from September 15, 2026 through June 15, 2027, with an optional summer block if budget allows. First-year Connectors can make up to $3,000 annually and will receive up to $500 for program materials.
