PJ Library Gains a Celebrity Spokesperson in Rick Recht

Rick Recht and PJ Library

PJ LIBRARY HAS A POPULAR FAN in Rick Recht, the top-touring musician. In fact, you might even call him a superfan -- especially now that he is serving as a celebrity spokesperson for our free book program.

That’s right! Rick Recht is now a celebrity spokesperson for PJ Library. He will promote the program at his 150+ performances this year. During his concert engagements, Recht will perform songs from his newest PJ Library children’s album, Look at Me as well as his newly released album Simply Shabbat and other selections from his popular musical repertoire.

Rick Recht's work as a Jewish musician has been lauded by PJ Library for some time now. In fact, our Music Selection Committee included his CD as part of 0ur December 2011 mailing for those in the Hamantaschen (8 Years) Age Group.

“PJ Library is excited to partner with Rick Recht,” says PJ Library founder Harold Grinspoon. “Not only is Rick an exceptional musician, singer, and songwriter, but he is also a role model for involvement in Jewish life.”

Indeed, Recht tours regularly, involving his audiences in his upbeat family music. He is also the founder and executive director of Jewish Rock Radio, an Internet radio station broadcasting contemporary Jewish rock music and interviews featuring youth from communities around the world.

SHARING THE PJ PROGRAM
Recht says his favorite PJ books are Bagels from Benny by Aubrey Davis and Five Little Gefiltes by Dave Horowitz. “I feel incredibly blessed that, for years, my family has experienced the profound impact of reading and listening to the inspirational and incredibly high-quality PJ Library children’s books and music,” he says. “On the road, many of the families we meet feel equally blessed to receive PJ Library, providing their families with such fantastic resources and experiences.”

He adds, “I believe PJ Library is one of the most extraordinary and effective Jewish family and community engagement opportunities of our time.”
