Celebrating Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israel Independence) with Grover

Celebrating Yom Ha'atzmautYom Ha’atzmaut is Israeli Independence Day, celebrating the creation of Israel on May 14, 1948. PJ Library families will likely spend some time preparing for the holiday by reading a few related books aloud.

To help facilitate that activity, we’ve collected a page of PJ Library selections relating to Israel. In addition, we have pulled together a fun list of holiday activities and resources.

SHALOM SESAME’S HOLIDAY CHANNEL

While reading PJ books aloud as a family would be our first suggested Yom Ha’atzmaut activity for families, there is another fun idea worth sharing. PJ partner Shalom Sesame has compiled a YouTube channel made up of Israel-related videos. Embedded below are several of our favorite Grover videos from the channel. Enjoy!
