Tu B'Shevat Events Round-up

This week we celebrated Tu B'Shevat, New Year for the trees. Earlier this month we sent parsley seeds to subscribers so you could plant "tiny trees" of your own. (Thank you for sharing your progress with us on Instagram). We also shared Tu B'Shevat activities here, on our blog, and on our Facebook page. Read on to see how PJ Library Communities across the country enjoyed Tu B'Shevat.


PJ Library in Greater Orlando
Jennifer Cohen, Director of Outreach and Engagement, Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando, shared: “Our community celebrated Tu B'Shevat with a birthday party for the trees on Sunday at a strawberry farm. We read Madelyn Rosenberg's, Happy Birthday, Tree!, planted pea seedlings, made beanie baby necklaces and decorated party hats from recycled kraft paper. We ended our day with a hayride and birthday cupcakes!” Watch the video from their celebration below:



PJ Library in the Greater Palm Beaches
On Sunday, January 17th, PJ Library in the Greater Palm Beaches gathered at Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market for arts & crafts, hay rides, strawberry picking, kosher ice cream and more. Community Engagement Consultant Amy Bergman sent us photos of the lovely gift baskets that were raffled off at the event.

In Detroit, 65 PJ Library families ventured to the Department of Natural Resources Outdoor Adventure Center and had a birthday party for the trees. Thank you to Gail Greenberg for sending us these beautiful photos!

 
 

PJ Library in San Antonio
PJ Library in San Antonio hosted a very special guest, Shelley Hoffman Dean from Rhythm and Ruach, at their special Havdalah on Saturday night.

  

PJ Library of the San Francisco region teamed up with The Jewish Community Library in San Francisco to rock out with Mr. Palindrome.

PJ Library in Las Vegas celebrated at Temple Beth Sholom's Preschool.
