PHOTO FRIDAY: Happy Birthday in Boston!

This week's submission comes from Debra Harmon Distler, coordinator of the PJ Library program in Boston.

More than 700 people from 55 towns gathered on the west lawn of the of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Boston in early June to celebrate the community's five-year relationship with the PJ Library program.

The outdoor celebration included bouncy houses, DJ games, book-related crafts, a PJ Barnyard, face painters, a clown (on a unicycle!), and a concert by Josh and the Jamtones.

“The kids danced to both English and Hebrew songs, and we all ended the event with a rousing Happy Birthday, PJ Library in both languages,” reports Debra Harmon Distler, PJ Library coordinator at PJ Library Boston.

The Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston partnered with Solomon Schechter Day School, Temple Emmanuel of Newton, Congregation Or Atid of Wayland, and the Families with Young Children Committee of Combined Jewish Philanthropies in bringing this celebration to the community.
