Books and Music Age Groups Have Changed!

September 29, 2009

Dear PJ Library Families and Friends,

A desire to make The PJ Library® the best it can be has brought about a change in our way of thinking and talking about our book selections. To this end, we’re eager to share with you an update that will take place beginning today, Tuesday, September 29, and which will be apparent on our website.

Recognizing that our books are, in reality, appropriate for an age range wider than twelve months, we are moving to a new system of referencing our books and music: we will identify our book groupings by names such as “Apples and Honey,” “Bagels and Lox,” etc., building alphabetically on some of our favorite foods! These are indicated on the website’s descriptive page by children’s building blocks that show the range of ages and the characteristics of the books in each collection, providing increased information to families about PJ Library selections.

We encourage each of you to spread the word about this modification by sharing this information with all those involved in your local PJ community.

A healthy and sweet 5770 to you all!

The PJ Library Team
