About this Community

THE JEWISH FEDERATION OF GREATER DALLAS has unified and advanced the Dallas Jewish community for a century. The Federation focuses on meeting the wide-ranging needs of the Dallas Jewish community with the help of numerous community partners, both locally and globally. The Federation's mission is to help assure the continuity of a strong and vibrant Jewish community in Dallas, Israel, and throughout the world.

The PJ Library program in Dallas is administered by the Center for Jewish Education, a department of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, which has a mission to serve as the resource to facilitate and convene the Jewish community, to enrich existing programs, and serve as a catalyst for new Jewish education initiatives. To support Jewish education as the critical link in ensuring Jewish continuity and the increased engagement of all members of the Greater Dallas Jewish community. The CJE has many successful ongoing programs such as LearningFest,Yom Limud, College of Professional Development for Educators, the Jewish Youth Tzedakah Foundation, the Tycher Library, and Israel @ the Center.

In Dallas there are 27 congregations, a Jewish Community Center(JCC), 11 Jewish Religious Schools, six Jewish Day Schools, and eight Jewish Early Childhood Preschools serving the Greater Dallas area (estimated to be over 45,000).
