Our inaugural year of The PJ Library is being provided by a small group of founding donors who are excited to bring this program to our kids. If you would like to help continue making The PJ Library possible for our area, we are glad to accept any size donation! Please contact us for more information.

THE JEWISH FEDERATION OF THE BLUEGRASS has members everywhere in Kentucky from Bowling Green and Ashland, to Cynthiana and Somerset, and more! We are a non-denominational Jewish charitable organization helping children, elderly, and those in need through our Jewish Family Services.

But that's not all! We also provide:

  • Tikkun - opportunities for volunteering in and around Central Kentucky (repairing the world one day at a time).
  • Jewish Education - twice monthly "lunch & learn" opportunities with a variety of local rabbis from several different affiliations, as well as sponsoring other activities including lectures, musical performances, and visits from well-known performers, authors, professors, Israeli dignitaries and international Jewish political figures.
  • Community Activities - celebrating Jewish and Israeli holidays.
  • Leisure club - seminars and activities for seniors.
  • Camp Shalom - we hold a two week summer day camp for children and young teens each year at a local campground.
  • Youth - we provide "camperships" for needy children to attend Camp Shalom, as well as provide scholarships for children to attend regional camps with other Jewish organizations and even programs in Israel.
  • Young Bluegrass Jewish - monthly social events for singles and young parents ages 21 to "40-ish" to the description of our services section

In addition to all these things, we publish a newspaper called SHALOM.  This newspaper is comprised of 10 issues per year and provides the latest news and information about events stemming from local Jewish congregations and Jewish organizations, as well as articles on topics of interest to the Jewish community.

Now, we are introducing The PJ Library, which we hope will become a great favorite among Jewish families in Kentucky.

Visit our website to see our community calendar, and to sign up for the SHALOM newspaper and our e-newsletter called "Jewish Monthly" where you will find news and more information about all our programs!
