The PJ Library

The Harold Grinspoon Foundation is a leader in creating and supporting innovative opportunities for Jewish engagement across North America. Through The PJ Library, the Harold Grinspoon Foundation reaches out to Jewish families with young children to help create stronger Jewish homes — homes that foster children’s curiosity about their Jewish heritage and help families explore their Jewish identity.

In participating communities, each subscribed child receives a free gift of a high-quality, age appropriate Jewish book or CD that is mailed to the home every month. The PJ Library offers books to children from age six months to ages five, six or seven years depending on the community. Check Your PJ Community pages for details.

Each book comes with resources to help families use the selection in their homes. The foremost children’s book experts have selected the book and music list, which includes a wide array of themes related to Jewish holidays, folktales and Jewish family life.

At this time, The PJ Library is available in select communities across the country. Review a list of these communities and the philanthropists who support this project.
